Dunko Guzman

Summary

Dunko Guzman is a goose man who operates the Pinecone Restaurant and Spa in Rex Tree. In Session 2, Dunko hired the party through the org to recover a book of sensitive information. Beyond running the restaurant—where patrons "get rubbed down with fish oil in the back"—Dunko operates a smuggling ring out of the establishment. According to Mayor the pig's intelligence, people drop off bags containing items they don't want others to see late at night, and Dunko later distributes those bags to other recipients. The bags contain goods such as endive and smell appealing to pigs.

Dunko maintains personal quarters on the second floor of the restaurant, accessed via stairs in a back courtyard. During the events of Session 2, his apartment was ransacked by the geese in Dunko's apartment, who entered through an open door on the opposite side. The apartment contained the hidden wall compartment holding approximately 250 coins and a knife. Dunko has a connection to Fat Nancy Cat (who is Vasso's aunt) and currently possesses Sucks's party mix minidisc.

Appearance

Dunko Guzman was described as wearing clothes and being "draped in pine cones." He was also noted as being "very high" during the party's initial encounter with him. Despite being a goose man, his apartment is decorated with "mostly sticks and feathers," befitting his avian nature. One party member observed that while Dunko is a goose man, "you go into his apartment and it is still full of sticks and leaves."

History

Session 2

The party arrived at Dunko's apartment to investigate the ransacking and search for his missing book. They found the small but nicely decorated space filled with evidence of the break-in: sticks, leaves, and feathers scattered throughout. When Katniss asked Dunko if the geese were his pets, he denied knowledge of them entirely, responding "What geese?"—suggesting the intrusion was unwelcome and the geese were not under his control.

During their investigation, the party discovered Dunko's smuggling operation. Mayor revealed that "maybe some people show up once in a while with bags full of shit that they don't want anybody else to see. Maybe Gooseman takes some of those bags. Maybe somebody else shows up later and Gooseman gives them those bags." This operation is separate from his legitimate restaurant business. The party learned that Dunko "was not happy" when Mayor and the other pigs ate a bag of endive that was part of the smuggling network.

The party found regular household items in the apartment: "some books that are just like regular old...some fiction, regular old books," along with clothing and water jugs. They also located the hidden wall compartment containing approximately 250 coins and a knife, which they documented for evidence.

Throughout the investigation, Dunko remained unavailable, as he was "getting a massage right now" and had made it clear that "he doesn't want to be bothered again until we've done solved the...until we know where the book is." The party respected this boundary, with one member noting "he said we weren't allowed to talk to him until we solved the mystery." They decided to leave him a receipt note in the empty locker documenting the evidence they were taking, with a promise to "clean up the gooseblood" once they solved the case.
