History

Session 2

In Session 2, Katniss joins the investigation team entering Dunko Guzman's apartment to search for a missing book. Before entering, Katniss expresses concern about Monster, stating, "I feel like I just need to coax Monster out of the vat of fish oil," and ultimately decides to leave the oil-soaked cat outside on Carl the pig.

During the investigation, Katniss raises doubts about Dunko Guzman's trustworthiness, observing, "Can we even trust this guy? Like, they don't. They don't properly separate their recyclables." When The Geese in Dunko's Apartment are discovered, Katniss considers whether they might be intelligent enough to have stolen the book, asking, "Can I use to see if they're literate and might steal a book?"

Katniss backs out of the apartment at one point to call down to Gooseman, asking, "Hey, Gooseman, are these geese your pets?" This question inadvertently triggers a guilt spiral in Sucks (also known as Vasso, Safia, Safia, or Safiya). After witnessing this reaction, Katniss returns to the room and offers philosophical counsel, placing a hand on Sucks's shoulder and saying, "This is what happens when you jump into violence."

Drawing on knowledge from fiction books and warehouse experience, Katniss theorizes about the nature of the missing book: "I feel like Cat knows a bit about smuggling from all of the fiction books and also living in a warehouse. So Cat wonders if maybe the book we're looking for is, like, his smuggling records." Katniss also suggests a practical investigative approach, asking, "Can Monster use the mud as a clue for hunting whoever stepped in the mud?" when muddy boot prints are discovered in the apartment.

Episode: "Session 3"

Katniss begins the session trapped behind a portcullis with Sucks and Vasso, immediately expressing concern about their dwindling food supplies: "Cat's freaking out because they're down to one goose and a dead fish." When Safia reveals herself by transforming from bat form, Katniss attempts to maintain a deception, loudly proclaiming to the robed figures, "Guys, we need to. We need to bow to the Echo Lord," trying to convince them that Safia is a deity. The character demonstrates surprise at Safia's shapeshifting abilities, asking "Wait, you can turn into bats?" and "Did you guys. Did you guys know that Safiye can turn into bats?"

Katniss demonstrates resourcefulness by calling Monster back and borrowing Vasso's dead goose to retrieve a broom handle just out of reach beyond the portcullis. In a creative move, Katniss rubs Monster on the dead goose to transfer fish oil onto it, making it more attractive to The Sniff Lord's sense of smell. The character then casually tosses the goose to Vasso after determining "it's no longer needed as provisions." When dealing with the Sniff Lord, Katniss uses a Called Shot move to throw the broom handle at a pressure point in the creature's neck, rolling a 9 and causing it to pass out without dealing damage. After Vasso ties up the creature, Katniss smashes wine bottles to extract corks and places them on the creature's tusks—an idea the character had earlier about blunting them. Katniss later attempts to tame the Sniff Lord after freeing it from bonds, saying "good Snifflord."

Katniss provides tactical advice to Sucks, instructing "you have to push the button harder" when he fails to open the portcullis, and after successfully hitting the button with the broom handle, turns to him and says "that's how you hit it. In the button." The character investigates the Purple Sludge, dipping "a bit of food into it without touching it" to test what happens, then warns the others: "Guys, this, I don't think this is hot sauce." When the sludge needs to be disposed of, Katniss comments dryly, "That's its home now, guys. Back to the sea." The character later asks "Hey, do you see the scent of leather and maybe paper anywhere?" while searching the area, and looks offended when examining The Dog Mask, "Because it's a dog mask." Katniss's dark humor surfaces throughout these encounters, making jokes like "Safia. Watch out. The Echo Lord is afoot. A wing."

Episode: "Session 4"

Katniss takes a prominent role in the party's negotiation with Louise Guzman, demonstrating sophisticated bargaining skills enhanced by ceremonial preparation. When the discussion begins, Katniss immediately dons the Negotiating Hood, signaling readiness for serious negotiation. As terms are being discussed, Katniss interjects to ensure Monster's needs are addressed, stating: "That sounds good. If you throw in a cat massage."

When Louise Guzman questions the value of a cat massage in the negotiation, Katniss employs creative pressure tactics rather than backing down. Katniss asks, "Should we open a competing massage business for cats on pigs?" using competitive threats as leverage. This proposal demonstrates a willingness to escalate negotiations by suggesting alternative business ventures. Continuing to brainstorm solutions, Katniss suggests "Perhaps we could all attune to the massage crew," showing a collaborative approach to finding arrangements that benefit the entire party while maintaining focus on securing professional care for Monster.
