Discovery of the Hidden Locker and Stolen Goods
Summary
In Session 2 of the campaign, Sucks discovers a hidden compartment in Dunko Guzman's apartment by removing a Hilary Duff poster from the wall. The Hidden Locker, approximately the size of a middle school locker, contains extensive stolen goods: approximately 250 coins of various metals, a knife in a sheath, a Hand Mirror worth 400 coins, a Gold Military Bust worth 900 coins, and a magical Butterfly Brooch created by a Spellwright. Most significantly, the Sniff Lord Symbol—the same oval with two circles side by side that Sucks and Katniss saw in the alleyway outside—is carved into the interior wall of the locker, providing concrete evidence linking Dunko Guzman to The Sniff Lord's smuggling operation.
The discovery triggers an ethical debate among the party members about whether to take the valuable items, with Vasso arguing against stealing from someone his aunt knows, while Sucks contends that the items are already stolen and therefore fair to take.
Details
The discovery begins when Sucks examines the apartment wall and removes what appears to be a Hilary Duff poster. This action reveals a concealed cubby "full of rolled up posters for all kinds of teen heartthrobs," which in turn leads to the Hidden Locker itself.
Inside the locker, the party finds a substantial cache of valuables. The coins alone number around 250 pieces: "Beautiful shining gold coins. And also silver and also copper. Like, just a ton of. Actually, one that looks like an even shinier silver." Among the other treasures, Safiya's appraisal AI identifies a beautifully crafted Hand Mirror valued at 400 coins and a solid gold military bust of a military leader worth 900 coins. The party also discovers a knife in a sheath and "a small brooch shaped like a butterfly" that proves to be magical, created by a Spellwright.
The most critical discovery comes when someone notices markings on the locker's interior: "carved into the inside of the locker on one wall is picture of a. Like, it's a oval with two circles side by side inside it." Sucks immediately recognizes the significance: "I saw this outside in the alleyway. This is the symbol of the sniff lord." This connection links Dunko Guzman directly to The Sniff Lord's operations.
The discovery prompts immediate debate about what to do with the goods. Sucks asks, "We should steal this, right?" Vasso objects: "whoa, whoa, whoa, guys, we can't. This does still belong to Gooseman." Sucks counters with justification: "I think those geese were interlopers. I don't think they were supposed to be here. Also, Safi just said that this guy is a thief."
