Fajirald

Summary

Fajirald is a pig who bonded with Sucks Benedict during Session 2 of the campaign and has since become Sucks' self-proclaimed "best friend." Fajirald is one of the Pigs that the party took on a 'test drive' and has become a permanent companion to the group, continuing to pull their cart on the journey to New Smoke. The pig is notable for being in possession of one of Sucks' minidiscs via the Kate Bush Mini Disc Player headphones, which Fajirald recognizes and responds to. After becoming separated from the party in Session 3, Fajirald was the first pig to successfully reunite with the group, emerging healthy and well-fed from the forest despite time spent surviving independently. By Session 6, Fajirald's importance in Sucks' life was explicitly confirmed when Sucks ranked the pig third among his companions—above both Safia and Vasso—revealing Sucks' preference for animal companionship over human relationships.

History

Session 2

Fajirald bonds with Sucks during the party's test drive of the Pigs. Sucks names the pig Fajirald, establishing their connection.

During the investigation at Safia's house, Fajirald remains outside with the other pigs while Sucks, Paisley, Lutro, and Carl enter to speak with the Mayor. At this time, Fajirald is in possession of one of Sucks's minidiscs. As Sucks notes, "my pig is listening to the other one," indicating that Fajirald has access to Sucks's music collection.

Episode: "Session 3"

Fajirald becomes separated from the party when the Pigs escape into the forest following Safia's failed animal handling attempt. The pig is the first to reunite with the group during their search efforts. Fajirald emerges from the trees as a "portly figure" walking on all fours, approaching a stream to drink. When the pig raises its head from the water to look at the party, Sucks immediately recognizes Fajirald by the characteristic "wet little pig eyes."

The reunion is emotional, with Sucks greeting the pig saying "Fitgerald, I missed you so much" (an apparent slip in pronunciation). Sucks places the Kate Bush Mini Disc Player headphones on Fajirald's ears, which the pig appears to recognize and respond to positively. Following the reunion, Sucks places a collar on Fajirald, an action that contradicts Sucks's earlier stated belief that the pigs should be autonomous partners rather than pets. Despite time spent free in the forest, Fajirald appears healthy and well-fed, maintaining the portly figure noted at their first meeting.

During the journey to New Smoke, Fajirald's special status in Sucks Benedict's life became explicitly clear when Sucks ranked his traveling companions in order of importance during his morning monologue. Sucks described his party as consisting of "his trusty sidekick cat, his pet Goober, his best friend Fajirald the Pig, his acquaintance Safiya, and his trusty apprentice Vaso." This ranking placed Fajirald third in Sucks' affections—behind only Sucks' cat and Goober, but notably ahead of Safia and Vasso.

Fajirald continued serving as one of the pigs pulling the party's cart, working alongside the other draft animals that Lutro had "made free" but who continued performing the same labor as before. The pig's position as Sucks' self-declared "best friend" reveals both Sucks' unconventional social priorities and his genuine preference for animal companionship over human relationships.
