Confrontation with the Tall Muscular Guard
Summary
In Session 11, while Sucks attempts to maintain his guard disguise in the barracks hallway, a Tall Muscular Guard—approximately six foot four and heavily built—emerges from one of the rooms and demands to know what Sucks is doing. Sucks attempts to bluff his way out of the situation by claiming he's inspecting doorknobs and organizing bridge night for the guards, but his composure wavers under the intimidating presence of the large guard. The confrontation escalates when the guard stalks toward Sucks menacingly, but Kat sends Monster the cat into the hallway as a distraction. The ploy works: the guard becomes distracted by the small cat, giving Sucks the opening to execute a spinning heel kick that knocks the guard unconscious. The party must then hide another body to maintain their stealth infiltration.
Details
The confrontation begins when the Tall Muscular Guard steps out of one of the barracks rooms and spots Sucks in the hallway. The guard is described as "really tall. Taller than you? Probably, like, six, four. Oh, and, like, really muscular," immediately establishing him as a physical threat. He confronts Sucks directly with the question: "What are you doing?"
Sucks attempts to deflect with an improvised story, responding: "Oh, nothing. Just hanging out in the doorways, inspecting doors and doorknobs. Touches the life of a God, my friend." He adds another layer to his bluff, stating: "I also am planning on starting bridge night later for all Scards," presumably referring to the guards. Despite his efforts, Sucks's composure falters due to the guard's imposing size and threatening demeanor. The large guard begins stalking toward Sucks with clear hostile intent.
Recognizing the danger, Kat intervenes by sending Monster the cat into the hallway as a distraction. The tactic proves effective—the intimidating guard immediately shifts attention to the small animal. He bends down and his tone changes completely as he asks: "Oh, who's this? Where'd you come from, little guy? Are you lost? You lost, little guy?"
With the guard distracted and in a vulnerable position, Sucks seizes the opportunity to strike. He executes a spinning heel kick aimed at the guard's neck. The attack connects with devastating effect: "You spin and he'll kick him right in the neck. And he slams his head into the wall." The strike deals 10 points of damage and knocks the guard unconscious.
Immediately after neutralizing the threat, Sucks calls out: "Holy shit, that was close. Vasso, I need your help to drag him into a room." The party must once again conceal an incapacitated guard to prevent their infiltration from being discovered.
