Summary

In Session 4, the location becomes a critical point in the party's investigation when Monster loses the scent trail of whatever caused the rapid freezing, suggesting the source changed direction or method of travel at this spot.
Description
The waterfall stands approximately twelve feet high, with both the falls and the downstream river encased in ice. Despite the solid appearance, rushing water can be heard flowing underneath the frozen surface. The ice continues to settle and shift, producing audible crackling sounds. The area around the waterfall feels noticeably colder than expected for the conditions, though it begins to warm as the party investigates. The waterfall emerges from a region of sparse forest, marking a transition in the landscape.
History
Session 4
Monster tracks the scent from the site of the frozen nilik to the waterfall, where the trail ends abruptly. The cat reaches the edge of the frozen river and begins sniffing around in confusion, walking in circles as it searches for the scent. The ice shows signs of recent formation—it still crackles as it settles, and the surrounding area retains an unnatural cold that gradually dissipates.
Vasso and the party arrive at the location to find the entire waterfall and river system frozen solid. The party observes that whatever force caused the freezing left no clear trail beyond this point, forcing them to make a decision about how to continue their investigation into the source of The Frozen Forest.
