The scene begins with Cat proposing an unconventional approach: "Can cat tie a popcorn to the end of a string and then toss the popcorn at the thing while holding onto the other end of the string and try to make it into a leash sort of for it?" This suggestion using Popcorn and string from Adventure Gear sets the tone for the party's creative methodology.

Safia takes the first significant action by activating Communion of Whispers through Safia's AI Implant, a capability not used "in like what feels like years." The AI interface overlays Safia's vision with what amounts to scanning for connectivity points. Through this technological communion, Safia discovers the blob has numerous connection nodes and is currently operating in cautious avoidance mode, believing itself to be in danger. The interface reveals the creature's primary function as preservation. Safia attempts to transmit reassuring messages: "We are not Daedrics. Like, we just want to talk to you. Here's some more popcorn."

Following this initial contact, Sucks throws most of the party's Popcorn supply at the creature.
