In Dungeon World, Talk to Animals is a ranger class move that grants the ability to speak with any animal as if conducting a normal conversation. The animal understands the ranger and can respond in a shared language.

The move reveals Monster's personality during the exchange in Session 7, where communication flows naturally but the animal's inherent nature and intelligence remain intact. Monster corrects Kat's misunderstanding about sensory perception with precision, stating: "Do you know how the olfactory sense of a cat works? I don't see smells. I smell them." This demonstrates that the move does not grant the animal unusual knowledge or abilities—it simply translates their existing consciousness into verbal communication.
