The pig rental system in Rex Tree directly contradicts these cultural values. When Safia encounters the operation run by Paisley, Fitgerald, and Carl, she finds it "painful to her to see these pigs treated like this." She explicitly states her opposition: "I mean, I just totally disagree with this whole pig rental anyways."
The pigs themselves validate Safia's cultural understanding of their intelligence. Mayor, the lead pig freed from the rental operation, demonstrates:

The GM establishes that "the society that Safia came from had, like, pigs were like, like, understood as intelligent. Like, they had a place in society." Rather than being confined or used as labor, "they were just. They just had their own, like, places to roam."
This cultural background creates immediate conflict when Safia encounters the pig rental operation. The practice of renting pigs for test drives is fundamentally incompatible with her understanding of pigs as intelligent beings deserving of autonomy. Her moral opposition to the system motivates her to free Mayor and the other pigs from Paisley, Fitgerald, and Carl's operation.
The freed pigs, particularly Mayor, subsequently prove the validity of Safia's cultural beliefs through their demonstrated intelligence and agency.
