Ragged Bow

Summary

The Ragged Bow is Sucks's ranged weapon, literally tied together with rags. Despite its deteriorated condition, it serves as the character's primary offensive tool when ranged combat becomes necessary. In Session 3 of the campaign, Sucks prepares to use it against The Sniff Lord, targeting a pressure point in the creature's neck that Safia had identified as a means to incapacitate it. The bow proved its accuracy again in Session 5 when Sucks used it to split an incoming Pumpkin Creature projectile with a bullseye shot, though it was subsequently knocked from Sucks's hands during the combat.

Properties

The bow is physically distinguished by its poor state of repair, with rags literally holding the weapon together. Sucks refers to it as the "big guns" when deciding to escalate to offensive action, suggesting it represents the character's most significant combat capability.

The weapon came into focus during the confrontation with The Sniff Lord, where Sucks intended to use it to strike a specific pressure point—described by Safia as a "button in his neck"—that would theoretically cause the creature to pass out rather than kill it.

Session 3

Sucks drew the Ragged Bow after Vasso successfully commanded The Sniff Lord to back away. Rather than allow the creature to retreat, Sucks decided to take offensive action:

"All right, I guess. I guess time for me to break out the big guns. So I take out my ragged bow, literally tied together with rags."

Sucks then took aim at the pressure point Safia had been insisting would incapacitate the creature:

"And I. I draw a bead on him. On the button in his neck. That Safia won't shut the fuck up about."

The bow represented Sucks's escalation from a defensive posture to active engagement with the retreating threat.

Episode: "Session 5"

Sucks employed the Ragged Bow during the confrontation with the Pumpkin Creature. When faced with incoming pumpkin projectiles, Sucks declared, "I'm using my ragged bow," and fired at the approaching pumpkin. The shot connected perfectly: "You bullseye this pumpkin, you split it right down the middle in half," demonstrating the bow's precision despite its ragged construction.

However, the combat took a turn when another pumpkin attack struck: "But you do get your bow knocked out of your hand."
