As sunset approaches in Session 6, the party makes camp in the pumpkin field. Vasso sits down to meditate, describing himself as "wet sitting" while communing with his divine powers through what he calls "divine favoring." During this meditation, Vasso makes deliberate choices about which spells to prepare for the approach to New Smoke, keeping Magic Weapon from his previous preparation and adding Sanctuary. He explains his choice of Sanctuary directly: "I'm choosing. I'm gonna keep Magic Weapon, but I'm also choosing Sanctuary because I'm being blissful. And Sanctuary is nice."
