Summary

The purple transformative goo is a bright turquoise or purple-colored liquid contained in a stoppered glass bottle, discovered in Yassandra's shed during Session 9 of the campaign. When exposed simultaneously to the Ever-Living Branch and human flesh, the goo acts as a transformative catalyst that causes organic fusion between the two materials. This property makes it one of the most dangerous items encountered in the campaign, capable of permanently altering a person's physical form.

The goo's most significant use occurred when Sucks Benedict employed it during a deception attempt and subsequently became fused with the Ever-Living Branch, creating a permanent new appendage on his body. Unlike other substances found in the tunnels, the goo is not caustic—that property belongs to a different item referred to as "silly string."

Properties

The purple transformative goo presents as a bright liquid that appears either turquoise or purple in color, stored in a stoppered glass bottle. The substance is viscous enough to be squirted or squeezed from its container, creating puddles when dispersed on surfaces.

When the goo comes into contact with both the Ever-Living Branch and human flesh simultaneously, it triggers a fusion process. The substance moves and shifts on contact, actively knitting organic and wooden materials together. The fusion creates new neural pathways, integrating the grafted material into the subject's nervous system and allowing conscious control over the newly formed appendage. The process works through clothing, as demonstrated when it fused the branch to Sucks Benedict through his shirt.

The transformation process produces sensations described as initially confusing rather than painful. Subjects experience movement and shifting as the goo works, followed by growing awareness and new sensation as the appendage integrates into their body. The resulting fusion is permanent, creating functional additional limbs with articulated digits.

The goo is non-caustic, distinguishing it from another purple substance (silly string) also found in the underground tunnels. It requires direct contact with both organic materials to activate its transformative properties.

History

Session 9

Sucks Benedict retrieved the purple transformative goo from Yassandra's shed, where it was stored in a stoppered glass bottle. During an encounter with a guard, Sucks used the goo as part of a deception attempt, squeezing the bottle between his thighs to simulate violent diarrhea. As one observer noted: "Sex takes the. That purple. That bottle of purple goo that he had and he puts it between his thighs and then he squeezes really hard."

The goo squirted across the area, and Sucks stepped into a large puddle of it while holding the Ever-Living Branch. He slipped and fell, bringing the branch into contact with his chest while both were covered in the goo. The substance immediately began to work: "Some goo get on the stick. And then the goo and the Stick that touches your chest, you can feel it start to move and shift."

The transformative process began as the branch started fusing with the left side of Sucks's chest near his armpit. The goo knitted the branch into his flesh through his shirt, creating a permanent new appendage. The fusion resulted in a wooden arm with three finger-like projections—two fingers and a thumb—that Sucks could control with his own mind as if it were a natural limb. The integration created new sensory awareness, allowing Sucks to feel through the newly grafted appendage.

The GM clarified during this session that the purple goo was distinct from the caustic substance: "I was wrong in that it's not caustic. That's the silly string. So this is a different thing."
