Sucks's Transformation
Summary
In Session 9, Sucks Benedict attempts to infiltrate a Guard Storage Shed near the foundry in New Smoke by disguising himself as an elderly man with a diuretic disease. The reconnaissance mission goes catastrophically wrong when Sucks slips in a puddle of Purple Transformative Goo while holding the Ever-Living Branch. The goo causes the branch to permanently fuse with the left side of Sucks's chest, transforming it into a fully functional second arm made of living wood with three finger-like projections. The transformation is irreversible and fundamentally alters Sucks Benedict's physiology.
Details
The infiltration attempt begins with Sucks Benedict approaching the Guard Storage Shed in disguise. He wears a dust hat, hunches over using the Ever-Living Branch as a walking stick, and targets a Guard with Patchy Beard who is sipping a drink while on patrol. Sucks claims to be searching for an outhouse, telling the guard:
"Stay back, young man. I have. I think I might have some kind of diet virulent diuretic disease."
The guard maintains 20 feet of distance and refuses to let Sucks approach, insisting the shed is "off limits" and not an outhouse. When the guard won't reveal what's stored inside, Sucks escalates his deception, pleading:
"Tell me what it is. I need to know. I have to poo way. My butt feels like it has snakes inside of it. Tell me what's in the shed. I need to know."
To sell the disguise, Sucks squeezes the Purple Transformative Goo between his thighs to simulate violent diarrhea, shouting:
"Oh, no, it's coming out."
Sucks announces, "The squirts have got me in their grips, young man," as the purple goo begins spreading. The deception backfires when Sucks steps in a large puddle of the goo while still holding the Ever-Living Branch. He slips and falls, and the goo contacts both the branch and Sucks's chest simultaneously.
The transformation begins immediately. The goo starts to move and shift where it touches skin and wood. The Ever-Living Branch begins fusing with the left side of Sucks's chest near his armpit, knitting itself into his flesh through his shirt. What initially feels like pain shifts to awareness as Sucks realizes the stick is moving independently, attempting to help remove the goo.
The Ever-Living Branch transforms into a new appendage integrated fully into Sucks's nervous system. The branch develops three finger-like projections—two fingers and a thumb—at its end. Sucks discovers the appendage is controlled by his own mind, effectively giving him two arms on the left side of his body. The stick no longer functions as a separate object but as part of Sucks's own body.
