Summary

Jack the Hammock Merchant is a merchant who operates a hammock stall at the New Smoke market. In Session 8 of the campaign, Jack successfully executes a scam on Sucks Benedict by selling him a sick rat for 5 coins, claiming it to be a valuable "lure rat" that belongs to the stall. After completing the sale, Jack openly brags to a nearby woman about having sold a rat that he didn't even own, only to be told to "shut the fuck up, Jack." Jack is voiced by Shawn.

Session 8

Jack encounters Sucks Benedict at his hammock stall in the New Smoke market. When Sucks Benedict catches a sick rat with a yellow-banded tail in Jack's pile of hammocks, Jack quickly claims ownership of the rat, declaring "Yeah, that rats. That rats. Five coins." He further insists that it belongs to his stall, calling it his "best rat" and demanding five coins for it.

Despite the rat being visibly sick, Jack maintains that he has "some good hammocks in there" and that Sucks Benedict will "find something." He successfully convinces Sucks Benedict to pay the 5 coins for the rat.

After Sucks Benedict leaves with his purchase, Jack immediately admits to a woman standing nearby: "I still think that I probably came out on top of that. I sold him a rat that I didn't own." The woman responds by telling him to "shut the fuck up, Jack."
